I don't think Wine will work with the sewing machine software because there is a USB security dongle... I have the same problem. I recently had to install Windows on my machine after going nearly a year without it. The program I needed (a CAD program) has a parallel port security dongle.

USB Security Question
Does these newer apps like Cubase and Cakewalk have USB security keys for copy proctection. Meaning I cannot install and use the software on two different PC's without moving the USB security key? Cubase does. I think all the high-end software has a similar system Also, what good Midi interface would you recommend.

There are no yellow flags in the Device Manger and it shows USB dcomponents installed so I wonder if they are now disabling external storage devices as a security measure. Anybody have any information? nothermark I don't know if any has recommended this but why not use a distro like Kanoatix (sp) or Knoppix and see

Tried that approach a little bit ago and at this time the "USB Security Device" is working in all configurations.I am surprized that no problems occured. Rebooted and used GoBack,the unit works with one exception a yellow exclamation appeared in Device Manager for USB Security Device.This seems to be a password

I can receive normal windows events for USB devices that are listed under the 'Safely remove' icon, but I have a particular USB security token that is not listed there. For this particular device, I also do not receive an event. 1) I assume not listed -> no event is related, is this true?
